Delivery scam or not?

This morning I had an attempted parcel delivery via DHL however when I confirmed my name they said it was addressed to a different person, even though the address was mine. Sure enough on looking at the DHL label it did indeed have this stranger's name and my address but on further inspection of the box it had a small address label on the side again with this guy's name but a completely different address. Do you think this was a simple mix up somewhere or some attempt at one of these delivery type scams?

I am expecting a couple of deliveries at the moment but none via DHL. FYI, I refused the delivery.

Could be a scam of some sort (e.g. you accept the delivery and shortly afterwards somebody comes round claiming to be a courier collecting the mistaken delivery from you) but I'd suspect more likely just to be a c0ck-up.

Poor form from a seasoned poster. The done thing is to grab the delivery, establish that it's something of value then come on here and ask if you can keep it as unsolicited goods.

Was it a delivery or attempt?  If it was delivered, was it one of the deliveries you were expecting?
