Hi peeps,
I have installed telegram and have started using it, however I noticed a padlock next to the search icon on chats that I can open and close. Does anyone know what this padlock is for. It doesn't do anything when I open or close it.

You're honoured! It is a "secret chat" feature. Chat's with the padlock are secret - they cannot be forwarded or shared - so if you aint in the group you can't see it and if you are you can open/close it but not share it. They sometimes have a "self destruct" which means the chat will "vanish" after a predefined time set by the author.
