Hi All
I am a member of the Energy Club and the top pick is the new British Gas tariff, my question is can you select a date to switch on or do you just have to go with the date they tell you, I only ask as my current tariff ends on the 6th March and currently its a better deal.

Welcome to the forum.You're free to switch right now without penalty. Usually you can't specify the date, it happens around 17 days after you start the switch.If you leave it until the last possible minute your existing tariff will continue until the switch takes place, but there is always the risk that the BG tariff will have disappeared by then.Are you sure that the new BG tariff is really the best deal? I rather doubt it. Start comparing with Citizens Advice and 'Which? Switch', and don't forget to compare separate suppliers as well as dual fuel.1
