Obviously. You have interpreted OP as meaning the properties are in different authorities but I think OP is saying the properties are in the same authority but owned by different landlords based on different authorities.poppy12345 said:I googled both Liverpool and sefton councils and they are different authorites.istanbul_2 said: .. if the property is in my same local council is owned by a different housing association from another district .
yes i am saying the properties are in the same authority but owned by different landlords based on different authorities.

That's what I thought you meant. As previously advised no it doesn't. As long as the new property is in the same local authority as your existing one and as long as there is no gap between tenancies your Housing Benefit can simply be revised to reflect the new rent. Your landlord could be anywhere.istanbul_2 said:.. i am saying the properties are in the same authority but owned by different landlords based on different authorities.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. See calcotti's post 29/1 11pm (quoted below). That answered it.istanbul_2 said:Alice_Holt said:
thanks alice . this is saying if i move house that it will trigger change of circumstances and possibly have to go on uc?
It will, of course, depend on whether the new property is in a different council area.
"The DWP will not force you onto UC. Housing Benefit is claimed from the local authority. If you move within a local authority your Housing Benefit can be revised. If you move to a new authority your existing Housing Benefit claim ends and you cannot make a new claim from the new local authority. It is then your choice to either stay on your remaining benefits and receive no help with your rent or to apply for UC in order to get help with rent. If you do the latter then your income based ESA will end."Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.1 -

I hope the DWP will pick up claimants that this applies to without relying on claimants to tell them, time will tell.Alice_Holt said:https://medium.com/adviser/closing-the-sdp-gateway-2763adf273fe
"To protect their entitlement, clients should make it clear that they wish to receive the SDP element [included in their UC claim], by adding a note to their journal or calling the UC helpline. If the element is not awarded, this is an appealable decision."Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
My post was more aimed at making you aware that a SDP element can now be added to a UC claim, so if you do need to move to UC (from ESA with SDP) - then make sure that the DWP have added it.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.1

knowing from our previous experiences with dwp they will not do anything, they are supposed to help you , but after a number of tribunals and appeals i don't have much faith or hope the dwp.

Yes, that would be my concern.calcotti said:

Particularly given the difficulty that can arise in getting UC to add the LCWRA element when claimants move to UC from ESA.
UC systems & ESA systems don't seem to liaise well.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
My understanding is that the IT systems cannot interact and UC have to wait for information about existing ESA claims to be provided manually.Alice_Holt said: UC systems & ESA systems don't seem to liaise well.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated.
