Utility Warehouse - Cancel in cooling off period
Hi all, writing this on behalf of my friend. She signed up with Utility Warehouse to lower her monthly bills but instead, they've loaded her with a bunch of additional stuff she didn't want nor as for. Cashback card, landline (at £40 a month alone!) and mobile contract that are unnecessary and totally burdensome. The deal was that she'd go with them for gas, electricity and broadband but they've thrown the additional stuff on too.
She's going to phone them up and cancel but she's currently panicking that she'll be without gas, electricity and internet in the meantime. She's the single parent of a 1 year old and needs her broadband to work from home. Can anyone advise how it works when you cancel in the cooling off period? Does it revert to old suppliers? She doesn't have a great deal of information.
