My husband dabbles in the stock market but very much an amateur. Had a phone call today about Wonder Coins. Has anyone had any dealings?

The coin dealers you see advertising on telly typically sell gold coins for about four times what they are worth because the buyers believe the hype that the coins are 'valuable', without checking how much gold is in them and what the price of gold is. These purchasers have no comeback on the sellers because the bought a gold coin and received a gold coin, and the seller made no specific claim of its monetary value - how could you when the price of gold moves on a daily basis. If he wants to buy gold, get him to look at an ETC for gold like the iShares Physical Gold ETC. He can buy this with confidence. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Personal-reviews.com is also very likely to be a scam recovery scam or a Google-baiting "this is a scam, join our scam instead" website, judging by the number of times it encourages you to email them.

Funnily enough, there are Wonder-Coins - a cryptocurrency - and Wondercoins - for rare US coins. I assumed it was the former. But in any case, if you were cold called it is a no no. Or fun, if you like to wind these people up for a s long as possible!0

Yes I did note that. Should have pointed that out too. ApologiesMalthusian said:Personal-reviews.com is also very likely to be a scam recovery scam or a Google-baiting "this is a scam, join our scam instead" website, judging by the number of times it encourages you to email them.
And it appears you are correct:

It wasn't a cold call, he had shown an interest but as soon as the caller asked to take over our computer, alarm bells rang. We did tell her we weren't interested at that point, but she still rang back.1

kind of reminds of a well known youtube chap who shows how people get scammed and fights back, Jim Browninganniep13 said:It wasn't a cold call, he had shown an interest but as soon as the caller asked to take over our computer, alarm bells rang.
