WD Green is the slower spinning drives (usually something like 5900rpm), they quite often find their way into PVR machines too as they are also quiet. Not necessarily budget, though they probably are. They're quite often just Blue drives in new packaging with a slower rotation.Note that there is nothing to stop you using a drive outside of its designed purpose. You can put a WD Red in a desktop (or a Black in a NAS) and it'll work just fine.0
