Grants

Options
Hi, this is my first post, so not sure if this has been asked before. Here goes, I have a small diesel van 2005 model. I live in the Manchester area and I know that the ulez doesn't affect us....as yet. I was looking at converting my van to electric, but even though it isn't as expensive as a new van, it's still a lot. Is there any Government grant or such available to help with this cost? Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance....

Save your money the ulez and clean air zone tarrifs are done off the original manufactures euro accreditation not what it actually puts out the tail pipe.

Despite meeting the emissions standard for the proposed Birmingham clean air scheme one of my cars will incur a £8 a day penalty from June because it misses the cut off date by a couple of months.

    That's a daft option.

The sensible option would be to buy a used electric van... Plenty of eKangoos on Autotrader starting from £2k (plus battery lease), and e-NV200s starting just under £10k.

Next step for this van is the scrapper, not the converter.  Keep it going as long as possible as cheaply as possible, then swap for the best EV once this current van gives up for good.

Why on earth would there be Government grants available for folly?
