Dcbl notice of debt recovery..

Hi newbie here, back in aug 2017 we went camping to abersoch, we made a point of paying for parking etc even though the machines where a pain to use and I’ve now had a letter though dated jan 2021 asking for £170!! I’m fuming to say the least, is there any templates I can send to this company as I’m not willing to pay this onsite fine and I havnt got days/weeks or months to sort it out, an absolute nightmare to say the least

14 days is a debt collector letter and can be disregarded ,read post 4 of the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum

No there are no replies that can stop this , none !!

Parking Eye can take you to civil court within 6 years , so if they do then you will have no choice but to spend time defending it in front of a judge , that deadline is August 2023

You need to do some research, read the newbies,  some more threads, and complain to your MP

YOU MUST read the Newbies thread about debt collectors, that is all that letter is.

They are trying to scare you with the word "bailiffs" .....  and there is us thinking the Kray twins were a thing of the past.

No problem, DCBL are sending out bucket loads of these letters. Not a clever letter quoting the Supreme Court. Lack of knowledge is their downfall.

If you get a 30 day letter before claim which DCBL will add fake amounts, come back here

If a ParkingEye case has gone to a harmless debt collector it's pretty much certain they have all but given up on the 'debt', but they won't mind if they pick up a few scraps if people are frightened by debt collectors, enough to cough up.

PE don't need any cheapo agent to be threatening court proceedings for them, with their indoor legal team, including two full qualified and experienced solicitors, they are more than capable of instituting a court claim themselves .... as they have done in tens of thousands of cases over the past few years.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If PE have farmed it out to a debt collector it is likely that they realise that they would not win a court claim.

The NEWBIES thread also tell everyone to complain to the landowner.

Abersoch Golf Club have had loads of complaints over the years about ParkingEye. Add to them.

There is no need to ask what your next step is, nor panic about a deadline on a stupid bog standard debt collector letter.   They are not acting as bailiffs, no-one will come knocking...

All of this is already said in the 4th post of the sticky thread.   And the 2nd post tells you how to win in court.  It's all there.  All normal.

A new post panicking about a same old (seen hundreds of times a month) DCBL 'recovery' letter tells us that the newbie needs to read NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.
