Can I keep a wrong item delivered by amazon?

Hi,
I ordered a cheap item off amazon and instead they delivered something completely different and worth quite a lot of money. They seem to have no idea this is the case. Is this item now mine legally, or do I have a duty to tell them and return it?
Thanks

No, and to do so would be morally pitiful and a crime. Tell them they have made an error and you will be a decent human1

No, legally it's theirs and legally you have a duty to take reasonable care of the goods and make them available for collection (at your convenience and at their cost). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

According to a significant number of posters on here, Amazon will not, can not, and do not ever deliver the wrong item.
Keeping it is theft. However there's a strong possibility that Amazon won't know where it went, and won't know to ask you for it back. Make your own decision.

As already said Amazon can't and don't make mistake, so it must have been changed into something more appealing by god, so it’s an act of god, or a gift from god, so yours to keep

Write a really nice email to their customer services explaining the mistake and offering to return it. Depending on how expensive it is they may suggest you keep it. I’ve always found Amazon customer service very good.
I ordered 2 items the same from a pet website. Instead of 2 items they sent me 2 packs, 24 items in total. When I contacted them they said just keep it. I gave most of it to an RSPCA charity shop.2 -

Of course you can keep it .... but you would have to keep looking over your shoulder for the next 6 years since Amazon may claim the amount at any time.Past caring about first world problems.0
