OP, I have had another thought.
You have checked with https://www.gov.uk/guidance/veterans-uk-contact-us#armed-forces-pension-enquiries
that the transfer did actually take place?
Do you have your policy documents from Equity and Law?

This thread helped me find my pension, so I want to add the information I collected to it so it can help anybody in the future find their pension.
Like the OP, I invested my British Army pension with AXA Equity and Law in 1994.
From this thread I learned that AXA Equity and Law had been taken over by Aviva.
I managed to get the following contact email addresses and telephone numbers from a chat with Aviva, I used email because I live abroad.
0345 300 4240
01603622200
Email addresses:-
annuityservicing@avivaservicing.co.uk
gpstandem@avivaservicing.co.uk
My email to annuityservicing@avivaservicing.co.uk was eventually sent to another department that handles my policies
Tandemservicing@avivaservicing.co.uk
Within 6 days I got notification that I would be sent my documents and the next day I received a link to a pdf file listing my policies and values.
All of the communication with Aviva was very friendly and they are very willing to help.
I hope this helps someone else.
