Brexit/UK Customs - Fjallraven

Hi,
I ordered a new coat from Sweden based Fjallraven on New Year's Eve and I am still waiting for delivery of the product.

When I ordered, there was no mention of a delay in delivery (now it says up to 14 days) and I fully expected delivery with the 3-5 days it stated.

I reached out to their customer services on the 18th to ask what was going on. They said there were unexpected problems but the package had been relabeled and dispatched on the 15th and was undergoing UK customs checks and hoped to be picked up by DPD UK ASAP. Now, the tracking they provided me for DPD NL has had no update at all since the 15th and just says "Order info submitted to DPD". DPD UK says that they've received details of the order but not the package.

Is there anything further I can do? I am absolutely fuming with this whole episode. Especially given how cold it's been these last few weeks 🤣

Any help or advice would be hugely welcome.

  • Had something similar with a German company.

Part of the order was shipped on Dec 23rd but DPD tracking just said "Order info submitted to DPD" and eventually, about 2 weeks later, they refunded me without any real explanation as to what had happened.

Resubmitted the order and its supposedly now been sent by UPS, but the tracking also looks dodgy, so fully expecting this one to go missing too.

I would be inclined to think that the problem may be somewhere at the ports - despite Boris assuring us there would be no issues I am led to believe they are having 'teething problems'.
Past caring about first world problems.
  • Just had this update come through. Says a lot whilst saying very little. I guess I just have to wait 😏

It's pretty much the same everywhere with goods leaving the EU at the moment. Kind of expected really as these things get bedded in and doesn't help by the EU not really being very flexible at the moment.

There have been backlogs at UK ports for months, even before brexit, caused by COVID disrupting the supply chain. Brexit has just compounded the issue by adding delays at customs.
It's not really fair to blame the retailer for the delays, they're entirely beyond their control.
  • There's lots of delays at the moment, I work in logistics and everything seems to grind to a halt, move a little and then sit there for a week.
Patience is going to be needed I'm afraid, it just seems everything is swamped.
  • Appreciate everyone's feedback and individual experience with this. Thinking about it logically it makes sense their would be delays. I guess I'm just annoyed there was no mention of it when I ordered.
Might have the coat in time for summer 🤣

Oh I know! I first saw it in a UK store but they were out of stock in my size. Had other options but chose to go direct as it was cheaper 😏
    More fool me.
