Repayment Plans effect on credit score

Options
I will be wanting to re-mortgage in the future but want to build up my credit score first as it is not good.  I have been left some money after my Mum died. I have several credit card repayment plans in place that I want to get rid of and have been offered a deal to pay off 20% of the balance and it would clear my account but by way of partial settlement.  They say that it would be updated to partially satisfied but the outstanding balance will show as zero on my credit file.  Would this be detrimental to my credit score?  Is it better to pay off in full but this would leave me with not much money spare?

Your credit score isn't important. The status of the accounts is what will be considered. Getting it settled is the most important thing - partial or full makes little difference.
