After call.out...boiler service cover added a heat exchanger to the engineer report after it had been uploaded first without and this then disqualified my repair as heat echangers aren't covered. They advised the part that needed replacing was a unit that included the heat exchanger 1) established this wasn't true and the HE was nothing to do with the part 2) the diagnosis was wrong anyway and the real repair was done an independent engineer for £85
The original engineer advised me he was full of cold and kept removing his mask to talk to me. I had to get another independent engineer to fix my boiler meaning extra time and stress of having folk in the house.
I asked the company to cancel my plan as I believe they acted dishonestly and I asked them to refund my payts made so far as they have not provided a service.
They have refused to cancel the contract meaning I have to make 6 more monthly payments to them! They have only offered to pay the £85 and this is their final offer.
I have used Resolver to write to the ombudsman after looking at reviews where people have experienced similar.
1) I think this is a service plan and so I'm not sure if the ombudsman cover service plans or just insurance? 🤔
2) If I accept the £85 am I then accepting the decision or can I still do this whilst awaiting a reply?
Sorry for the essay hoping someone might have some advice. TY

Service plans don't generally come under the Financial Ombudsman.

If you really do think that the company is behaving unfairly then, I'd send an email to them threatening to go to a consumer company. I'd say I was going to contact watchdog, unless ....... Make it clear what you want.
I'd provide the link, so that they can see you mean business. Keep it polite, but direct. You could also state that you are also considering This is money to make a complaint. Most companies don't need the bad press.
