  • Google or a comparison site are your friends.
  • OP, Have a squint at startresue.co.uk;...they are usually pretty reasonable, but that’s not to say usually the cheapest or the best, but perhaps a decent place to commence your search and then compare others. Myself and family have at various times insured with Startrescue (3-star policy) and the odd times we’ve called them out they’ve been excellent. That’s not a recommendation, btw. Best to trawl through the sites and see which suits you best, such are the myriad options and add-ons you can choose from.

The annual cost depends on the type of breakdown cover you need (Vehicle or Personal) and how extensive that cover needs to be,..European, Nationwide or just local et al. Some give better discounts than others if you have more than one vehicle.

There are lots to choose from if you Google search. I’ve looked at ‘comparison sites’ for breakdown cover in the past and found them to be a little confusing in the way the prices are displayed and also somewhat at odds with the prices quoted from the breakdown company’s directly. Perhaps they’ve improved.

Check the conditions carefully. Some (RAC for one) don't cover business use on a consumer policy, so you'd need a separate policy for the van.

Check with your Motor Insurance provider, many can add on breakdown cover at reasonable rates.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Use Tesco vouchers for RAC personal insurance.
