Unsolicited Goods

Hi
I ordered a bathroom suite then cancelled the order about 30 minutes after as they said it could not be delivered till April and I needed it for 1 weeks time , so they cancelled and gave me a refund , and now the item has been delivered .
am I entitled to keep this as unsolicited goods ? Or if the company ask for it back and I obliged to send this back ?

They're not "unsolicited goods", they're "goods sent to you by mistake". Yes, you're obliged to let them have it back.2

It's not unsolicited goods, simply goods sent in error. Unsolicited goods simply means any goods sent without any prior agreement and although the original agreement was cancelled, it did exist.
You don't have to send the goods back, simply make them available for the retailer to collect from you.1 -
You wanted it, they sent it (albeit in error) why not contact them to pay for it and all will be fine.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.2 -
Isn't it funny how you always know the answer will be 'No' when you see the words 'Unsolicited Goods' in a thread title.I'm hoping one day I might be pleasantly surprised, but I won't hold my breath.7

It's even more tightly defined than that, it's only the "inertia marketing" scenario of goods being deliberately sent to you unrequested in the hope you'll buy them.George_Michael said:Unsolicited goods simply means any goods sent without any prior agreement1 -
Think of the old Christmas cards that used to be sent out with the "Pay £10 to keep, or post them back to us"

Years ago I had some sent to me but I couldn't send them back, well no envelope big enough to put them in & no postage. Before I was thinking about stoppong givjng cards and that was the straw that broke the camels back.powerful_Rogue said:Think of the old Christmas cards that used to be sent out with the "Pay £10 to keep, or post them back to us"
What was even more disgusting was the order from said "Yes I want to buy these and also"1 -
I do like the unsolicited goods threads that start "I ordered ...."5

As a bathroom suite couldn't be posted through the letterbox and as it's probably packed in fairly bulky boxes, I would hazard a guess that the delivery people wouldn't simply leave it on the doorstep so this begs the question. If the OP was at home when the delivery was made, why was it even accepted?2
