Hi all
It recently came to my attention that I had a CCJ from a private parking company three years ago. I was unaware of this as I had no fixed abode at the time and was sofa surfing w/ depression. Having fixed my life it came up now that I'm applying for a mortgage and this £250 CCJ is my only stain. I've written to the courts and they've granted me a hearing in May. The letter from the court states
The parties should discuss what can be agreed before the hearing. If your case settles or an agreement is reached before the hearing you must immediately tell the courts this.
My question, is it possible that I can settle the matter with the claimant and have the matter completely removed from my record not merely satisfied? If so is there a particular phrasing I should be using in my communications to the claimant? I'm not interested in having it settled as this would still be detriment to my credit file.
Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

Almost certainly not, given the circumstances.1

Thank you zx81, so in this case it's better for me to wait for the hearing and make my case to the judge. It's still my instinct to make the offer to the claimant, if nothing else, to show that I am making every effort not to waste court time.0

Might anyone else have any other advice, insight?0

There is a dedicated parking forum on here. It might be worth trying on there.
