So for the second time in just under a year we have recieved nothing but excellent service from British Airways - we should have gone to USA just 2 weeks after the first lockdown was implemented, although I had tried to ring BA a couple of times (lines were busy as there were many people in the same position), we had and email from them telling us that our flydrive was cancelled and we would recieve a full refund into our bank account, was a bit sceptical as i was reading lots of horror stories from other travellers - sure enough within 3 days the money was there.
In our wisdom we decided that no way Covid would still be impacting travel in 2021 and rebooked for Easter 2021, but decided that we would just pay our deposit and wait until nearer the time to pay our balance.
We have recently come to the decision that even if we can go at the begining of April, we were retisent as we both have health conditions and were unsure if we would even be allowed in, well BA are allowing you to change your bookings if you booked after Mar 2020 and to travel before August 2021, so we decided that as we couldn't rebook yet for easter 2022 that we would accept a voucher for the £500 as we had actually thought we would loose it and rebook when we can, the day after applying for it we recieved an email with our voucher - technically I know they still have our money but we will use it to rebook (and maybe 3rd time lucky will get to Boston and as a surprise for DH i'll upgrade us, not very MSE I know but what the heck).
So well done BA for exceeding our expectations on two occassions.
