Advice please : EE TV closing down

Looking for advice please for elderly parents. This is not necessarily a money saving question but more a “is there a similar service out there ?” question

Parents currently have EE TV with the associated box, broadband, etc - they pay approx £45 pm (I know!). They largely watch terrestrial tv on it with a bit of catch up TV.

The primary reason they have retained the service rather than getting a human box etc is the way the box works. Key feature is the rollback of live TV across 6 selected channels .. no need to press record etc. They love this feature !

Do any other services offer it ? Looked at BT TV and that looks similar ..

if not available will go to Humax box ...

TIA

Well EE TV is basically a Freeview receiver/recorder with what looks like Now TV added on.  Now TV you can get separately and Freeview the TV probably already has it already, and if its a smart TV the catch-up options will probably be on it already.  However the only other option that I'm aware of that does Live TV rollback automatically is Sky Q (and maybe Tivo through Virgin), but these services aren't cheap.

    As above .
BT TV is via a box with recordable Freeview and IPlayer etc .No extra subscription required .
Add ons are now via Monthly passes or subscriptions .

They could also consider Freeview Play?

That way there's no ongoing monthly subscription for TV - only a broadband connection is needed (plus the TV aerial connection).

Fair point ... but that probably applies for any option they go for where pausing/roll-back of live TV is required. :)
