Morning all had a busy day yesterday so didn't get on it is quite a bit warmer today so the heating is off for the moment dog has been walked and is snoozing .
TA like you i spent the day going through mums clothes the girls took some as they used to swap clothes on the cruises we went on as they were the same size and mum was quite trendy especially when i took over buying and helping choose her clothes . I have kept some special pieces she wore a lot one piece in particular that was a cardigan of my nanas (her mum) she said it was lovely and warm but won't fit me so I am having these items made into memory cushions for me and the children so we have something forever.
Marie hope you are doing ok
Ruby The hospice nurses are wonderful and are probably used to patients like your brother so should be able to help him feel more comfortable please also remember that they have support in place for the whole family as well x
Hester hope you are ok in this cold weather
Nels I bet the solicitor was worried not good at all considering the charges glad its all sorted now
Dinner tonight beef stew in the slow cooker
Sending hugs to those who are struggling and those who are looking after poorlies . I hope you all have a reasonable day x

Hi everyone sorry been MIA for a few days feeling a bit down but now I have read all your posts I realise I really don't have stuff to be down about and need to get on with stuff and stop feeling this way.
Not much happening here, just keep getting through each day as it comes, work is a little boring at the mo which is a shame. Have been baking bread this week to avoid having to go to the shops til the end of the month, it is way too addictive and yummy and along with homemade clementine marmalade its the best ever. Also made a beef skirt casserole and added some dumplings and it was really good. I had bought 3lb of beef skirt hoping the casserole would last at least a couple of days but everyone enjoyed it. This is my first year of having an Aga and I can't believe the difference in how it cooks stews (the dumplings were so fluffy and DD hardly ever gives compliments on my cooking!! So that's all good. Meal planned for the rest of the week, lots of no spending days and should be under budget on food spends for this month.
Roll on the weekend and have lots of tidying to do and office/documents need a good sort out so between cleaning, cooking and walking the dog that's my weekend plans sorted!!
Hang in there everyone, it is going to get better....

Morning all! I'm up waiting for my hospital phone call, I hope they don't phone until I've had another cup of wake up juice tea. They're late already so who knows? Tomorrow I have to actually go to the hospital, not looking forward to that although infections are right back down again over the last couple of days. OH has another interview today over the laptop. Got to say, I'm not sure which I'd find less stressful, in real life or the comfort of your own home.My puzzle is coming along well, I must have put oh, about 20 pieces in approximately the right place yesterday. Until the cat walked all over it of course. Good job i took a photo. It's a 1000 piece puzzle...I know how to show myself a good time. The polpetti last night were a hit, I don't think I;ve ever made nicer ones before, but that's probably because I went hard with the seasoning and the parmesan. My sister now has the recipe, she said she'd never been there when my mother or father made them before so didn;t know how to make them Tonight we have herby chicken sausages with colcannon to use up the leftover cabbage from Monday.Phone call done, upshot is take some more tablets and tell them if they have any side effects...Nelski, what a pain, although well done them for sorting it quickly and the doc with her compliance eyes. Hope your mum gets a vaccine jab soon. TA, well done. It's a horrible job that has to be done by someone eventually, so you've helped your children too by doing it. Maybe a harity shop when they're open would like the hangers? Ruby, hope it goes well for you and the hospice have helped him to ask for some help. Hope everyone else is coping OK today, rain doesn't help to cheer except in the middle fo aheatwave when the plants need it so we could always pretend it's a heatwave and this a brief respite

Morning all, just wrote a long post and lost it grrr ! Short version now. We have thick fog today, roll on spring.Anyway bed changing and cleaning upstairs today. Bread to make and a mystery tea, something plain/bland, maybe the casserole was too rich for me. I did get 2 extra portions for the freezer though and one for Dad for when we next go up.TA we filled in a form online for the Heart foundation to collect 11 bags of my late Mum's stuff. Perhaps you could leave them outside the front door if they are collecting. Just a thought.Gers hope DM is better today.Nelski more hugs for you my girl, nothing is ever simple for some folk, me included.Right more coffee before I tackle the dust upstairs.Hugs to everyone having down days and problems. Please post even if you have noting to say at least we know you are safe.Take care, stay safe all. Sending healing vibes to those in need and many hugs.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Morning all.
Nelski, it is comforting to know that some people read forms carefully and can spot errors. I sometimes get the impression that health information falls into a black hole somewhere along the line. It's so important these days when you don't have a family doctor who knows the ins and outs of your family's health since birth. That's a particular bee in my bonnet so I'll shut up right now.
TA. Watch it. Clothes hangers breed. I'm afraid that you'll be stuck with the clothes until the charity shops are operational again.
bella, what a wonderful idea about the memory cushions. I wish I'd thought of that.
I've promised my bedroom a birthday today. It's beginning to resemble a gypsy encampment. Mind you, any space that I have occupied for more than an hour tends to go that way. Clean but cluttered. OK. Clean-ish.
Enjoy today everyone. You'll never get it again.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning everyone
Little one stayed last night - it was nearly 7 when she woke so that wasn't bad - we snuggled back down and watched The Gruffalo. DD picked us both up and dropped me off in town for my dentist appointment. I was in and out - next week's is the bad one when I have teeth out - not looking forward to that at all! Picked up a prescription and got some bits in Home Bargains then home again.
Had a cuppa and a chat with eldest DD who had to go to the German embassy in Stockholm this morning to apply for her visa - all went well and they said she should get it within 4 weeks.
Youngest DD is feeling a lot better but still has the catheter. The district nurse took it out on Monday but she only lasted an hour without it as she was in a lot of pain but couldn't pee. So it's back in and she's still waiting for her appointment - she's decided to go back to work next week as she's feeling so fed up stuck at home. She works as a carer and is missing her clients. I've told her not to do too much, but it will probably be better for her to get out of the house a bit and have something else to think about.
Well I still haven't put my shopping away so I'd better move or it will be lunchtime.
Take care everyone

I would have got on here before noon but eldest Granddaughter wanted me to read her assignment before submitting it. Sunny day here at the sea side. Finished a crochet poncho for youngest Granddaughter and her older Sister wants one so I will start it this afternoon. I have a huge stash of yarn which I need to work through.
Hugs to all who are needing one.
