10 year renewal Driving license

DVLA have issues with on line with passport being used phoned them last week as I am shielding I tried to apply on line and was told there are issues and can not be done so I have to apply by post or via post office

    Well I just did a 10 year renewal using the existing passport number - all done and new driving licence returned in 7 days.

    Is it worth ringing them again and hopefully you will get someone a bit more sympathetic. If you explain you cant go to post office due to shielding they might have another idea. I think Parcival's approach is v good too. Good luck.
