Hello not been on here and posted for a while however all going good now and debt and mortgage free living the life it can be done. However trying to help a friend and he is repaying Lowell and Link (he acknowledges and is repaying the debts) but neither appear on his credit files or checkmyfile. Would these affect his credit rating or show up elsewhere?

It depends on the status and age of the accounts and where they were being reported.0

Well he is reasonably sure the accounts both credit cards are from at least 7 years ago when into collections and is almost certain were on his credit report 5 years ago. But looking now cannot see them at all on anyone of the reporting agencies. My suggestion is as he is selling his car to make a full and final settlement offer start at 10% and see how it goes one is for £1450 paying £7.52 a month the other £2419 paying £12.48 a month both taking about about 16 years to pay off. Sound like a plan to anyone.....then he will be debt free and peace of mind.0

He can certainly make them an offer, although 10% is probably way too low to be taken seriously.0

Do a CCA request to each creditor (Google it if you don’t know what that is) if they can’t provide compliant paperwork, he can use that to his advantage when negotiating.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
