Hi all,
Looking to buy a 2 year old Mercedes C Class Coupe. Current pricing is around £24k with about 20,000 on the clock. My understanding is that Mercedes will be announcing a complete redesign, maybe as soon as March, as they do every 6 years or so.
Question is, do I wait until then for the 2 year old car to reduce in price as a new design is released or just buy one now? Percentage wise what sort of saving would I expect by waiting?
Once again thank you all in advance.

Will that make as much difference as a full service history?
When they announce the new design (assume they work to your schedule), it will probably not impact residual of the former model until the new shape starts to make it to the used market.1 -

Mercedes may or may not launch a replacement for the current W205 C-class this year. Right now, all bets are off - you can bet that development and manufacturing cycles have been badly disrupted over the last year.
If and when they do, will the coupe be immediately launched, or will the focus be on the saloon and estate?
They're still doing camouflaged mule testing of the two main models, it seems - so it's unlikely to be imminent.

If and when it is, who can predict what will happen to residuals...?

If you can afford it, want it and it’s the right price buy it now, enjoy the car. It’s not the same as buying a new one with a new model coming out next month.0

Being realistic, people who buy the new model will be on PCP, the used new designs won't hit the market for 3 years from that and if they did release it this year, chances are people will wait for the new plate as well leaving it further away still.0

I'm sure this can also work in reverse. If the new model is an ugly duckling or, for some reason, not well received or viewed as an improvement, there can be a mad dash scramble to buy the last of the old version. The prices of late registered second hand ones might go up, or not depreciate as much, resultingly.0

Many thanks all for the great advice!0
