I just wanted to record a small win for me today. Last year I was looking at getting my partner and I a rum advent calendar and have just seen them for half price on a website but still £150 for the two of them. I added them to my basket and would of bought them on credit but thought 'No!' and have instead decided to buy a bottle each month with actual money I've earned and put it away so at the end if the year we will have 12 70cl bottles rather than 48 5 cl bottles. It sounds a lot but that will last us a year. I'm ruddy bloody proud of myself.

Well done!  Changing mindset and new habits doesn't need to mean missing out on things.  I used to buy the yank*e candle advent calendar but last Christmas I put together 24 festive tealights/votives for about half the price.
  • Well done on the sales you have made already and the paying off having started.

Another £340 paid off Paypal today. This only leaves us with £10 in the account but tomorrow is payday and I have £40 in my purse to go into savings. I sold something for £15 this morning and have one other thing to post and I listed a few other things last night. I don't think I need to spend any money today except on postage which the buyer paid for so that isn't my money anyway. I have a tonne of beetroot at home so today I will be making a beetroot cake (ah, I will need to get chocolate and cream for the frosting, dang I forgot about that) which I have never made before and I have also seen a recipe for sweet potato brownies which will use up the sweet potatoes we have in the fridge. Good times!

Payday, yahoooooooooo! £350 paid off of Paypal. £50 in the Help to save account. £100 paid off Very. £95 to Virgin and £65 to Tesco. Both of those are minimum payments but they're also interest free so I'm tackling the interest charging loans first. I'm going to try and take the food money out as cash and keep a note of what I spend but we shouldn't need much other than milk and cereal for a while. I do need to post something today but the buyer paid for that. I sold a couple of bits yesterday so will put that cash into savings today too. Feeling very optimistic if not completely fed up and down in the dumps with lockdown. Never mind, we're all in the same boat.

I ended up spending £7.55 today as the beetroot muffins I made were only suitable for the bin but my son was really excited about having a Friday muffin so I ended up buying bits to make more. I have started keeping a spending tracker to try and be more aware of what I spend. Does anyone bank with Monzo? Does it help you keep track of your spending?

I am aiming to have my first no spend day today. Possibly the first one ever? Perhaps I didn't spend any money when I had food poisoning but this will be my first lucid no spend day. I'm not sure what has happened to me, I am actively becoming pro-active! I hope this signifies a change in mind set. I have deep cleaned that carpets on the stairs and in the living room. Why is the water always so putrid afterwards? We're all living in our own filth like old bathwater. I've started tackling the top of the wardrobe. I don't think that has been done for at least 12 years and the dust proves it. It's so revolting. I want to get rid of that wardrobe and put the bed there. I tend to fit into the space I have and the more space I have the more stuff I fill it with ergo, less space less stuff. Hopefully. I feel like the house is breathing since having a declutter. The garage is almost empty and I have managed to merge 2 wardrobes into one and 4 drawers into 2. I made £25 selling stuff last night so I will get that posted tomorrow. Not bad. I wonder if tackling these debts has made me feel more energetic and less apathetic?

Somewhat typically, today wasn't a no spend day. My son had bought himself a toy for his birthday from Ebay which hermes has lost and today on Facebay a new toy came up for £5 which I said he could get while we wait for a refund. I felt so bad for him as he was gutted but he was very happy with his new toy. Tomorrow, I need to go to the post office and return some stuff to Next that I couldn't do last week. I may need to get milk and eggs too. Still spending way less than I would normally. Its very satisfying. I think I'm starting to worry my partner as anything that isn't stuck to the floor I've been looking at to sell. I think he might start hiding stuff. I wonder how much could I get for his old socks? Surely he doesn't need anymore than 7 pairs? I joke but im being ruthless.
