Help with laptop

HiI want to buy my other half a laptop for christmas but I have no idea what one to get. He won't be playing games on it just basic excel and word things and surfing the net.There seem to be so many out there can someone point me in the right direction pleaseThanks in advance

This question gets asked a lot If you look right at the top of the forum there's a thread specifically for good cheap laptops and I believe on the last page there is a very decent one for a very affordable price.
