Has anyone ever complained about a funeral service that wasn’t as planned. We had a cremation service for my mum in December and paid £300 for Pallbearers who didn’t turn up with no explantion.

Common practise for coffins to moved on trollies to minimise number of people involved.

My husbands funeral is in 2 weeks and we’ve been told we can’t have any pallbearers due to COVID at all.Sealed pot challenge 822

On both occasions we had an 'expected' fee. Then the final invoice several weeks after the funeral. We just went down the itemised list (pages to be honest as every single small thing was listed) and ticked or crossed and raised issues with our designated funeral director (rather than their accounts dept).
Being Irish we usually do 'lifts' rather than pall bearers but we did have them for dad, itemised and the number we had and hours present (plus where they were used - parlour, church, lowering to ground).
For mam we weren't allowed a funeral but they were listed for something like half an hour (adding mam to trolly, in the car, lowing to ground).
I don't think it's a complaint as such, more a request for clarification?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
