Credit score after fraud

Options
Hi Guys, any and all advice is appreciated.

So, last year my ex, at her new address (completely unrelated to me) received a few letters from debt collection agencies chasing me. Long story short someone had taken 2-3 mobile phone contacts (?) out fraudulently using my details. I spoke to EE and o2 and both agreed to write off the debts as fraudulent, the other company IDMobile and their recovery agency have been a nightmare to try and get some kind of resolution for a bill of around £16.00ish.

I've just tried to buy a house, but, pre-empting the above issues from last year I signed up for Experian. Credit score was a shambles and showing high risk due to IDMobile. Added a note to experian with the crime reference numbers etc and my score is now Excellent and 989 out of 999.
Proceeded with buying the house and Ive been rejected (soft search) on my credit account. Mortgage broker is baffled as my report is 'squeaky clean'..

So frustrated here, it looks like I'm going to lose the house I am trying to buy.

Ideas, advice.. Im open to all please guys.

You do know your score is only seen by you, lenders see your history.
Whats exactly on your history ?
Possibly not the case here but I wonder if you have a CIFAS, maybe its something to look into.

    Hey, thanks for the reply.

Nope, Im pretty ignorant to all this, but I only mention my credit score as I assumed it is calculated taking into account my history somewhat.

My report history is just my old mortgage, phone, a catalogue account etc - Everything is settled apart from my ongoing mobile contract. No payments have been late.
The report sais no data is present under the CIFAS section, so it appears not be an issue there.

Check all three files, not just Experian. Ignore the scoes on each, focus only on the data.

If you have any notices of correction remaining, remove those.
  • You might need to do a SAR to the agencies like CIFAS and National Hunter too just in case - see if they have anything held on you
  • Firstly, thanks to everyone that helped on this thread - it is appreciated.

I had a mortgage offer this morning. Apparently the issue lied with not enough time elapsing from the removal of the problematic advents on my credit account to applying for credit. It seems to have been sorted with patience.

Again, thanks to everyone who took time.
