Applying for credit and confused about my address history on credit file

Hi dont know if this is the right place to post so sorry if not. Anyway I just wanted someone's opinion on what date I would put on application when applying for a mortgage.  I have lived at current address for 11 years. However in 2015 I moved out for a few months as me and wife had a break. My bank statements was getting sent to my current address still but I moved to a flat for a few months even though my bank was sending me statements to my wife's address at the time they did create a address link on credit file to my new address   I wasnt on the electors roll at my new address as I was only there for a few months but when I moved out my wife took me off the electors roll at my now current address however she put me back on in 2017 but I moved back in 2015 same year I moved out. On credit file I have been registered twice there.  Anyway I'm confused by when asked what year I moved in current address do I say when I originally moved in 11 years ago or do I say 2015? There is no previous address on credit file but a linked address to the flat i moved to that year. Thanks if anyone can help as I feel if i say the original date 2009 they will pick up on a linked address in 2015. If i say 2015 they will say you was also registered there in 2010. I havent a clue how to answer this.

The main thing is to be consistent with how you portray your address as inconsistencies can cause issues with CIFAS/National Hunter if you aren't careful. Most lenders only really care about the last 3 years of address history though, so as long as you've been at your current address for the past 3 years it shouldn't matter. Otherwise if asked be honest - you should structure your address history something like this:

Address 1: Moved in 2010, Moved out 2015
Address 2: Moved in 2015, Moved out 2015
Address 3: (same as address 1) - Moved in 2015

Hi thanks for that I appreciate it. I have seen the application  form and it asks for your current address and previous addresses for past 3 years. I dont have any previous address for past 3 years. However it then asks for the date you moved in current address so it's that bit that I will be stuck on. So should I just say 2015?

I'd say 2015 - but that's just how I'd approach this situation. however you answer, I'd recommend you make a note of it so you can refer back to it later on any other applications you have down the line. It will definitely get flagged as inconsistent if you answer as having moved in in 2015 in one application and 2010 in another.

This is also a query of mine as well.
I rent and have moved around places. (My family home i was born there, however I believe when i check my credit file, it says that I was on that electoral roll around 2015/2016, however I was born at that address (so over 28+ years)

Where im currently at, im on the electoral roll and have been for around 5 months maybe.

When I apply for credit cards etc I always put (this address) and then as its less than 3 years, I then put in my family house. The date i put in for the family house is when I was born there, till when I left....

    Is that correct...?

If it's the truth, yes. If it's not, no.

The important thing is to be consistent, the easiest way to do that is to tell the truth.
Unless you spend your time between multiple addresses and then you have to pick the most appropriate and then always be consistent.
