No it won`t affect your credit file.
You can just pay the original invoice and ignore the debt collection fee, its not enforceable especially as you are in different countries, they rely on your compliance to pay such things, nothing more.

Unless you are going to move to Germany, there isn't an issue due to Jurisdiction. As stated it won't appear on your UK credit file.

Can they pass it to an English debt collectors though ? I’ve tried emailing them and they ignore it I just want to pay what I owe but can’t can they just keep putting the amount up and will I have to pay it all eventually?

Not for £42 quid, that’s laughable.
As I said, there fee is not a debt, it’s a charge, and is unenforceable, you cannot sell on a fee now can you.

Like i said before, they rely on your compliance to get paid, and nothing more.

If they are going to be awkward, walk away, nothing will happen.

  • I’ve been in contact with the company who I ordered from and they sent an email to the collections agent asking to take the debt back this is the reply I got today from them
    Hello Kate,

We have forwarded the case to the collection agency. The case will be processed further and withdrawn as soon as possible. Please note that we have no influence on this.

    Kind regards,
does this mean that the debt company are Pursuing the money they say I owe ?
  • it says they are contacting debt collection company but they have no influence on the timer it will take for them to respond

i think your interpretation of there email may be down to language barrier

    stop worrying

No it means they are returning the account back to the original creditor, so the debt collector is now history.
