Debt collection letter from abroad

Hi I’m December I ordered some perfume and paid for it after ordering I realised it was from a company I’m Germany anyway I paid the item for it after several weeks of not recurved in and emails back and forth they refunded my money has they said it couldn’t be delivered any was a week or so later whilst I was at work the the item was deliver which my daughter signed for has I was at work I did receive an email from them asking me to pay the amount anyway due to been poorly and my grandmother been in intensive care I forgot to pay and have just received a letter from liquidia asking for 125 euros £42 for the item and interest plus their fee can this effect my credit rating also can’t ring them gas it will cost me a fortune with them been in Germany

No it won`t affect your credit file.
You can just pay the original invoice and ignore the debt collection fee, its not enforceable especially as you are in different countries, they rely on your compliance to pay such things, nothing more.

Unless you are going to move to Germany, there isn't an issue due to Jurisdiction. As stated it won't appear on your UK credit file.0

Can they pass it to an English debt collectors though ? I’ve tried emailing them and they ignore it I just want to pay what I owe but can’t can they just keep putting the amount up and will I have to pay it all eventually?0

Not for £42 quid, that’s laughable.
As I said, there fee is not a debt, it’s a charge, and is unenforceable, you cannot sell on a fee now can you.
Like i said before, they rely on your compliance to get paid, and nothing more.

I’ve been in contact with the company who I ordered from and they sent an email to the collections agent asking to take the debt back this is the reply I got today from themHello Kate,We have forwarded the case to the collection agency. The case will be processed further and withdrawn as soon as possible. Please note that we have no influence on this.Kind regards,
does this mean that the debt company are Pursuing the money they say I owe ?0 -
it says they are contacting debt collection company but they have no influence on the timer it will take for them to respond
i think your interpretation of there email may be down to language barrier
