Zoom invite

I am getting a zoom invite on Wedenesday  I don't know what to do.
I don't have a smart phone and I will be getting an invite to zoom by email.  I use Windows 7 and chrome, although I also have edge. 
My partner says on her machine she clicked on a zoom link in an email and she connected no problem with no password or downloading software. 
My questions are do I need to download and install zoom or register a user account or do I simply have to click the link invite in the email I get?

Download and install Zoom is the easiest solution, and have a look at https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-meeting - you can then just click on the link in the email.  You don't need to sign into Zoom to join a meeting from a link but if you were to host a meeting you would need to sign in.

You can get zoom compatible with Windows 7 easily and you'd find it useful to open a free account with them. Not a bad way of making multiple video calls simultaneously.
