My husband died in December, he had no will and we rent our house. He had shares with his workplace and they are worth approximately £1200. The share company have been in touch and said i can either fill in a Small Estates Declaration and Indemnity form or provide a Grant of Representation document.
I have dealt with all the utility companies with no issues and stepchange have closed the account as his debts were in his name and they said the debts aren't anything to do with me. We had a joint bank account and i don't think there are any issues there.
I am getting myself confused as to whether i need a Grant or not. I would be very grateful for any help.

I would just fill in a small estates declaration and indemnity form. I would not apply for a grant. I hope somebody more knowledgeable will advice.
