Thanks @Lonelygambler you're numbers are all going in the right direction too, great stuff.

ADHD is being a sleep thief again but my pay in three 18.49 payment has come out of my account so will update figures in my signature. That was the last payment for that item so just the final payment for the oven on payday and that will be another debt gone. Slowly but surely they are on their way.

One more debt direct debit due on Wednesday and then it will be the long wait until payday before making anymore significant payments, might be able to chip away a few little ones but will depend on the budget.

  • Fab work as always! It is so important to recognise that you are going to hard at the debt, as you say it is just as dangerous as being out of control! Great work on adjusting and planning!

Last bill for the month has come out and I just have the money for the wallpaperer to pay. Then it's the longest 4 days of the month waiting for payday to pay off some of the debt.

Today is the day the new kitchen is delivered, so will need to rethink how we can use any space for the next two weeks. Lots of boxes have been moved to mum and dad's spare room to make space for the delivery.

Need to finish stripping wallpaper in one room and have a general clean and tidy up, going to look over next months budget again to make sure I'm happy with it before Thursdays money shuffle.

3 days until payday, most of the kitchen was delivered yesterday, three boxes were damaged so are being re-sent on Wednesday.

Todays jobs were buying and using a tub of filler to fill any holes in the wall before the wallpapering is done tomorrow.

Half terms are always the busiest as it's the only time I'm free to get anything to do jobs or sort out life admin, so this week looks like this

Today - prepared walls and tidied up both rooms being papered, painted strip of wallpaper next to where bedroom feature wall will be to avoid having to be really careful afterwards.

Tuesday - wallpaperer here, boiler service and oven being delivered.

Wednesday - wallpaperer here and three large kitchen panels being delivered. Paint part of kitchen once panels have been delivered

Thursday taking mum to and from hospital about 45 minutes away for a procedure. Paint part of kitchen once panels have been delivered. Payday money shuffle.

Friday something fun with the boys as it's their last day of half term.

Weekend - remove the last remaining kitchen cupboard which houses the sink and switch off the water to remove the sink. Take the cat to the cattery

Then next week the kitchen is finally being fitted. Can't wait to decide where everything is going to live. At the moment we've got 2 plastic boxes with food in and a tower of plastic drawers. Haven't had a proper kitchen for about 12 weeks while we've had a rewire, plasterer, decorating and flooring laid. It's been stressful but the end is in sight.

Money is tight with £32 left in the budget until payday hopefully we can make it as only money needed will be to send the boys to walk to the shop if they get bored.

It's payday yippee 🎉🎉 I've done the great money shuffle and have now got rid of the pay in 3 for the oven. £24 has gone to bank of mum. Student loan has reduced by 171 and has a direct debit of 129 in the middle of the month so I'll knock that off the total then. Very has reduced by 120 and Cc2 has reduced by 160 with a further 100 direct debit due in a few days, I'll update the totals again then.

    Overall balance £5319

Grateful that managed not to increase debt this month so the total is finally reducing. Pay in three has gone and SLC and Cc2 are on track to be gone in another 2 months when I'll start increasing the amount I pay back to mum so that is done before Christmas too.

All parts for kitchen have now been delivered and that is due to be fitted next week
Everything is starting to come together which makes me really happy.

Kitchen fitters asked to come a day early so have been today and got most of the carcasses in, one of the custom made worktops was damaged in transit so will need replacing but they've said they will fit the damaged one until the new one can be made then switch them. Very pleased with the quality of their work so far.

Hopefully the electrician can come and connect the oven this weekend and then we can cook a little easier and get back to meal planning this week.

I have also switched home insurance and have a £20 voucher on the way and have switched bank accounts so should have £175 extra this month, just need to decide how to allocate that now, probably partly towards decorating and partly off a debt but now sure on figures yet.

Kitchen is pretty much done, two drawer fronts and two sets of hinges were missing so we're waiting for them to be delivered as well as the work top but we have a fully functioning kitchen. The fun bit is now deciding where to keep everything.

An extra £250 was needed for plumbing so that has been borrowed from bank of mum but will still be repaid by the end of December so still on track.

Feeling pleased with all that we have managed to do without having to go too much more in to debt.

Everything else is on track, need new wiper blades for the car but that will come out of the car pot. All other pots are filling up nicely. The Christmas pot is looking healthy so will cover all gifts and possibly have some left to divert elsewhere.
