My friend is living in an AirBNB whilst waiting for her purchase to complete having sold her house in November. The landlady is grateful for the regular income as doesn't have a booking from anybody else until August.

Thanks for the advice and ideas.I’ve tried open rent and managed to get one viewing set up but everything else was let.
I’ll have a look on air bnb. Thank you.0 -
Just catching up
Don't really have any practical advice as we don't have pets, but I do know how difficult (impossible?) it can be to find short term rental if you don't fit a landlord's 'ideal tenant' template.
Hope you get something sorted soon. In the meantime, do whatever it takes to keep yourself functioning.1 -
Don't worry about your cats, they get free food and that's all they care about really.
Just keep looking for a temporary rental and/or home to buy. I was once in a desperate situation, purchased a home within a couple of months. 5 hrs a day of searching, but it paid off. There's two of you, so try allocating 2 hrs each per day to searching. You'll be fine.

Have you looked at an air bnb rental for the time being? I know we can’t book holidays but you are needing a residence which I believe is in the rules. Good luck1
