KVM switch with new gaming monitor?

Options
Hi,
I recently purchased a £460 gaming monitor (BenQ XL2546) which has a very high refresh rate of 240 hz. , and comes with 2x HDMI ports and a displayport.
I now want to purchase a KVM switch so that I can easily switch from my work/service laptop (Latitude 5400) to my gaming computer in the evenings, but I was wondering if anyone knew if I bought a KVM switch would I loose some of the image quality for gaming?
Thanks,

  • In theory not, they should just pass through the signal without any interference but keep the cable length as short a possible and use a good quality one.

Are you actually using it as a full on KVM with the keyboard and mouse hooked up to your laptop as well?
Was thinking because the monitor has several ports, just hook the PC and Laptop into different ports then you can switch display at the flick of a button.
