EDF scam?

Having just applied to switch from EDF to another provider, I’ve had emails & a phone call saying that if I remain with them I’ll stay on my current fixed tariff plus have £150 credited to my account. But only by calling a particular number. Apparently only this department is able to offer this deal. Has anyone else had this - is it a scam?

Almost certainly a scam, especially if they can't quote your account number etc.
Accept it only if you can do so by using EDF's contact methods shown on your statements.
  • Just called EDF from number on my account details & been told their promotions and sales departments are running these offers, so I guess it’s not too good to be true after all.
