using holiday towards sick pay

Hi,
I have a question about sick pay. I am off sick now and entitled to 4 weeks fully paid sick pay and 4 weeks half pay.
I am now in the half pay part and my question is if I am off six weeks, I would lose a weeks pay. Could I use a weeks holiday to cover this?

I wouldn't think that you could get paid both in the same weeks

After the 4 weeks on full pay you can either be paid sick pay (half pay in your case) or holiday pay not both at the same time.cazzzie987 said:

Contractual sick pay is often discretionary.
Nothing to stop the company offering and extra week full pay and let you take a week of holiday.1 -

So that would mean that for the final two weeks there would be pay for one week's holiday but spread over two weeks so only half of each is holiday and yet they are getting the benefit of a full week (at half pay) of sick leave when only half of the week is sick leave (ie not possible to have sick leave and annual leave for the same time).Undervalued said:

Yes it would. However, as I say, given that the employer can refuse any holiday request (as long as the employee is allowed to take it at some point in the year, when the employer chooses) they have the whip hand.General_Grant said:

Employer can choose to give an extra week on full pay and none for the following week.General_Grant said:
