Lcwra backdated payment

Hi, I won my tribunal for LCWRA and it was agreed that I would receive 3 years backdated payments. I have been phoning Universal Credit to find out when I will receive the payment, but I’m getting nowhere, I keep getting told that I would receive a phone call within 48 hours, but not once have I been called. Does anybody know how long it takes to receive the backdated payment? Thank you.

Thank you. I’m getting no answers at all, it’s so frustrating.0

Just keep sending them messages on your journal.0
-
I can’t send messages on my journal, because my case was closed a year before my tribunal.1
-
I would try and contact them early in the morning when they first open.0

I’ve been calling them, getting nowhere, I’ve also been told it’s with a decision maker. Which is a bit weird as the decision was made at the tribunal.0
-
No, it’s not weird, the decision will still need approval from the DWP to be paid. If you can’t get through on the telephone all you can do is wait and keep trying.0
-
Ok thank you.0

The DWP Decision Maker presumably has to work out the amount owed - which may not be straightforward depending on your circumstances during the claim. I assume they will have to recalculate every month of entitlement and then compare it with what you actually received.
(I am not saying this applies to you but) in some cases somebody might have been paid the carer element while they were not getting the LCWRA element or they may have had earnings and now be entitled to a Work Allowance included i the calculation as a result of having LCWRA. Therefore they cannot assume that it's simply a case of looking at the LCWRA element amount and multiplying it by the number of months missed.
You said the claim was closed a year before the tribunal. Was it UC that closed the claim, if so would having LCWRA make a difference to whether or not the decision to close the claim was correct?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Hi, I was only receiving the basic Universal credit and with regards to my case being closed this was because I had to find employment after being turned down for LCWRA0
