I totally agree @Thrugelmir is absolutley 100% correct
But I have friends and family with mental health issues and anxiety due to covid and unless you have experience with that yourself saying there is no time for sensitivity is total nonsense. We are in a very serious situation and I know that from first hands experience but to start making people think that the vaccine will not protect them and maybe sow a seed in their minds that there is no need to take it is totally
irresponsible and I'm sure every front line worker in ICU would say so too.
If the comments was not meant in that way then thats fine and we are fighting on the same front
    Keep safe everyone

Sorry, I disagree. Medical professionals will never lie to people to persuade them to do the right thing. Having the vaccine may not protect someone from getting covid, but it is very likely to prevent you being seriously ill. It is also likely to reduce your viral load, so reduce the chance or amount you spread to others.

Yes and i also live with my daughter who has social anxiety and ASD so first hand experience here too but i would never let my daughter think that the vaccine will protect her from catching Covid.

Severe mental illness counts as an underlying condition, pushing people with serious mental health issues up the waiting list. Both factual and positive!

The way things are looking , at aged 62 you should get vaccinated by mid to late February.

You are not a registered carer I'm afraid

What is the definition of a "Registered Carer" ?
Are you saying that a family "home carer" for a disabled individual - who receives carers allowance is a Registered Carer or are you saying that only Care Home Care Workers should receive a priority jab ?

The government's vaccine committee has revised its recommendations to include unpaid carers in the vaccine priority list.

It now recommends unpaid carers who get Carer's Allowance or who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person (child or adult) whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill should be prioritised alongside people with underlying health conditions.

This means unpaid carers are now in priority group 6: (see Table 3 of the green Book). It is not yet clear when unpaid carers will be offered the vaccine.

This welcome news follows a campaign by Contact and other charities to add carers to the priority list. In November we wrote to the government's vaccine committee about the enormous impact the pandemic is having on families with disabled children and thank you to the thousands of people who supported our campaign by signing our petition.

Before having the vaccine, people who are able to consent should read the information first in order to make an informed decision. My personal opinion is that it is better for people to have the facts from a reputable  source beforehand to give them time to consider the pros and cons of their individual circumstances.

Having a mental health condition doesn’t change that, and it is all the more important that people understand their options. To do otherwise, and to suggest to people that they can have the vaccine and go out and lead their normal lives is inaccurate and misleading.
Informed consent means just that - being informed.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
