I’m currently with HL.co.uk but looking at trading212 and their zero fees is very appealing.
My question is how safe are they compared to the rest?

So all in all FSCS protection, FCA regulated, and assets are held with Interactive Broker.0 -
How do you define and measure 'safety' of investment platforms?
Whatever measure you choose to use, it's highly likely that a large well-established company with a solid business model will be at the opposite end of the scale from a much smaller newer player with thin margins....
For another example of the latter, have a read of https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6032496/svs-securities-shut-down/p10 -
Some of the Google reviews put me off even having a small pot on there. I know it's not exactly super reliable but it was a little troubling0

It seems that the investments are protected in the event of the firm going under, and in most cases the shares will be transferred to somebody else. I use the platform and have never had any issues, but only have a few hundred pounds invested, I would not use it for big money.0
