Hi , checking my credit file WITH CHECK MY FILE , what does US mean , unknown status ? What does that actually mean ? It seems to be after a D for default ?
Does US mean it’s not active ?

If you had checked via google and on the Checkmyfile site it says:Hampton1968 said:Hi , checking my credit file WITH CHECK MY FILE , what does US mean , unknown status ? What does that actually mean ? It seems to be after a D for default ?
Does US mean it’s not active ?US – Unknown Status
Unknown Status (US) is a marker that reflects when the lender has not continued reporting monthly updates to the Credit Reference Agencies. While not always the case, the US marker is often seen on defaulted accounts, as lenders are not required to report monthly updates for defaulted accounts.
US markers can appear on both defaulted and non-defaulted accounts. Providing that the reported balance is £0, there is no further payment required and the account will be considered closed.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
So several US markers in a row , would that signify the debt collection is not bothering to report it because they have been unsuccessful in recovering debt ?0

It probably means what the snippet dr_adidas01 posted suggested it means.Hampton1968 said:So several US markers in a row , would that signify the debt collection is not bothering to report it because they have been unsuccessful in recovering debt ?0
