I will take it to my local garage together for the car service in march (For now i will have to put my food shopping through the passenger door)
The car is Corsa D. No key to the boot.
I got a few question.
I want to know what is the potential fault and what is the likely cost. And if the part will need to be order before hand.
Reason is due to COVID, I want to get it done in one go, rather than go back for it be repaired.
So far, my research is that the fault could be the fuses, or micro switch.
Is that anything that could related to it.

A fuse is the most likely cause, which is a simple DIY job.

Actuator. Common failure on Corsa. Expect to pay £100

Microswitch is a common fault, about £20 off ebay and plenty of forums to see how to do it.

Will the local garage have spare fuse for Corsa?
I would doubt they have a spare for microswitch.
It doesn't look like it's the actuator, the rest of the car works.

Other possibility is a break in the cable where it passes through the flexible rubber tube between the body and tailgate. If you can solder the repair for this cost nothing other than a few minutes of your time.

Will the local garage have spare fuse for Corsa?  Ha Ha, how is anybody here supposed to know that
The actuator is in the hatch, it only operates the hatch latch, the plastic on them snaps.

    A fuse is a fuse.
They won't have the microswitch in stock, but they could have one on the next van from the factor.

best to start with the simple things. so check fuses in fuse box. if that doesnt work take the micro switch out, and put a tester across it. if thats ok it must be the actuator in the boot lid, or the wiring loom that feeds it.
