Faulty electricity meter

Options
I moved to a new flat last August.(am renting ) The display of the traditional electric meter is not working. The gas meter is fine. I have a key and card for them respectively.  I top up the key every month with a random amount even though I can't see anything on the display. I have never had problems with electricity yet. I can see my balance on the gas meter so that's fine. I have informed my landlord when I first moved in. They asked me to sort it out with my supplier which is Utilita. I called them many times ...they wanted to install a smart meter but bcz of covid they are out of stock .
Can anyone advice what to do.
I m afraid I will be in any trouble when I plan to move out from here
I have proof of my payment /receipts when I top up the electricity key.

You need to badger Utilita to do something - it's their responsibility.  It's impossible to tell whether the meter is actually working but the display is dead, or if the meter has failed entirely and is not recording anything.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I'd be tempted to stop topping up the electric meter and see if it working enough to actually be using your top up amount ? See how long before it cuts out ?
