Yes there are medals, these are a bit of a worry.

Do all four of you siblings have children of your own? How many grandchildren are there? Does the number and gender mix fit any better with the ten items?
Would any of the four siblings be willing to have an item during their lifetime but solemnly covenant to pass it to a nephew rather than their only daughter, say?
I have remained child-free, so am intending to pass certain items to the three females in the next generation (two nieces and a cousin) in my will or during my lifetime.
Another thought is to copy-and-paste the different ideas from this thread into an e-mail and ask your siblings which of the methods they favour.
