Faulty Mattress

We purchased a Mammoth mattress from furniture village at a cost of £1100. After less than 2 months we noticed a dip on one side and you feel like you are falling out of bed. Went into FV who advised process was to get someone from service dept to contact us. This was on 28.12.20. Didn’t hear anything, but obviously with lockdown we expected a delay but it’s not like we could sleep elsewhere, it’s something we have to use every night and when they are guaranteed the best nights sleep I think they must mean after it’s rolled you into the floor! An independent reviewer came out a week ago and took some measurements. He wouldn’t say if he agreed with me but also wouldn’t lie on it to test it. We still haven’t heard anything and the person dealing with our complain at FV said yesterday they would chase up his report but today she wouldn’t speak to me just told person who answered she would chase daily. I don’t think this is good enough as it’s now 3 weeks since we raised our complaint so I contacted Mammoth direct. They said they can send someone to check but I would have to pay for it. I have no faith in either company and would like a refund. Am I entitled to this as now I have researched this type of complaint (and it’s very common) no one seems to get very far with them.

When did you actually purchase ?? That is what determines Consumer Rights .
You have no Consumer Rights against the maker only the vendor .
The inspection does not require lying on the bed .
Your research does not entitle you to a refund .

(when they are guaranteed the best nights sleep)
What exactly is this guarantee and what does it say or is it just advertising blurb .
Did you register mattress with Mammoth for extended warranty ??
  • Also as it would be relevant, are you or your partner over 20 stone (127KG), as that is the maximum weight permitted per person.
