Just make sure RBS don't do a new hard search every time you try it. :D With NatWest / RBS you don't need to submit the application to get hardsearched by them. I've seen other people complaining about this.

It wasn't hard search initially, rbs have their eligibility checker, I was 95% approval rate for their Cards.
I did like idea of low 9.9%apr card though after the 403 error and a few failed attempts to apply, I finally tried 18mths 0% transfer 19.9 purchasers which went through.
Don't mind as if I need to make a purchase for a few hundred then this card also has 0% 3 months purchases.Though 0%made within 3 months, so somewhat limited..
The 18mths )% on balance transfers is only when made within 3 mths.
I only have one possible small transfer to make  <500 which allows plenty of time to clear tha, I don;t have any other transfers to make.

Same here. Last year it showed me 95% eligibility, I applied and at the final page it just froze.
I applied again using different browser, froze again. I tried three times. Then I received 3 identical letters saying they can't offer me their credit card. And it's still showing me 95% eligibility. They even sent me an email offering me their CC. But when I check in my NatWest mobile app, among "Offers", there's only overdraft, savings, but no credit card. I'm sure I would get declined if I applied, but the eligibility checker is still showing me 95%.
I think they are just pillocks. They don't know what they are doing or what they want. Avoid RBS/NatWest like the plague!

I've  enjoyed my return to RBS their online and Mobile Apps are of the very highest Standards,
Amazing Leader in place. Emily.R -as seen on Ian King Live!
Lucky Alex with your Overdraft option, I've been learning to Budget within 250 overdraft -non increasable.
Don't give up on them yet, though in your situation, I'de maybe  call them to Apply and avoid Mutli unintentional Applications.

I don't know but NatWest/RBS app looks anything but highest standard to me. It pales in comparison to Lloyds/Halifax. And those are still not on the same level as Starling and Monzo.

I did enjoy hbos online  it was excellent at that time including Mortgage, though their charges went very high.
Some of which my poor bank account conduct.
As it seems I'm months away from decent Credit Rating after a number of years.
I'de consider trying Starling or Monzo -one at a time only, though not the time to mix up DD's or SO's.
Are either easier to maybe be accepted for a small overdraft.
My RBS Digi online experience has by my useage seen excellent progress made since the original had launched.

Starling have the lowest OD rates by far, but from my experience you don't get approved too easily. I'm still not eligible for it. I don't need it but I like to see that my bank trusts me. With Monzo I got approved for £1000 easily and I still have it. But I applied in 2019. I think the highest OD they are offering now is £500.

Remember, NatWest will do a new hard search whenever you apply for something with them. That's always a small hit for your creditworthiness. 1 or 2 are not really an issue, but if you also applied for something else just a couple months earlier, it can make the difference.
With Halifax, once you are their customer, they don't do any more hard searches. I opened one Halifax current account with no overdraft 2 years ago. That was the only time they did a hard search. Since then, I applied for £250 OD on that current account, no additional hard search. Later increased it to £500, again no hard search. Later increased it to £750, no hard search. I then took out a credit card from them - no hard search. I increased the limit on that card to over 6k - no hard search. I applied for second Halifax current account - no hard search. That's amazing. Try exactly the same with NatWest. It would mean 5 hard searches. 5 versus 0 is a massive difference.

Neither Monzo nor Starling do hard searches unless you also apply for overdraft. I know it because I check all my credit files very often. When I opened Monzo, no hard search. Opened Starling, no hard search. About a half year later, I applied for the overdraft with Monzo. Only then they did the hard search.

Does Monzo or Starling have OD eligibility checkers, I know rbs s do which is why I'm not going to request an increase.
I thought NatWest online was similar to rbs.

They let you know if you are eligible or not, without affecting your credit files.
Yes, RBS and NatWest should be the same thing with different colours and design, just like Lloyds and Halifax.

Not yet eligible for either OD's.
I've only used rbs OD once during 2020, hopefully this year as well.
Maybe future months/years could bring an increase option, not an immediate concern.
