Can use Credit Club but can't use Experian directly

Options
Hello
For some reason, I can use Credit Club and see my Experian score, but when I signed up for Experian directly it refuses to even let me join and says I do not have enough information on file (something to that effect).  I cannot dispute it or do anything about it...
Why is this, or why could this be?
As first time buyers, my partner and I are worried that something is up, and would rather be safe knowing its not a red flag.
My Credit Club Experian rating is 966
Thanks

Request your statutory file.  More info here: https://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/statutory-report.html

Don't go reading too much into your score or rating, only you can see it, your history is whats important.

As above - request your statutory credit report. Experian are legally obligated to provide you with this info if requested. You might need to formally complain but they should ask for ID to verify your identity and once you provide them with that then you shouldn't have issues getting access to your files.
  • OP if you have access to Credit Club you can already see your entire Experian credit file; so you don't need anything else.

You aren't considering using their paid service are you? It offers nothing of value. The magical number they show you is not seen by lenders and does not mirror every other lenders credit scoring model. What's important is the actual contents of your credit file itself; along with understanding the impact each aspect of your credit file has on your creditworthiness.
  • Thank you all for your advice. I will request my statutory report.
I understand that I can see my credit score through Credit Club, but just to completely error-proof my credit score or any future mortgage applications, wanted to find out why it had been refused.  Whether I am missing information that may be needed when actually checking my credit history.  I also for some reason cannot get any of these credit check website to see me on the electoral roll.  I have been on it for the last 3 years at my current address but all of them tell me to register.
    Thanks again for your advice
  • It might be that you fall under a local authority which is having delays updating this years ER data:
    Local Authority
    BarnsleyManchester
    BirminghamMonmouthshire
    Blackburn With DarwenSheffield
    Brighton & HoveSlough
    City of LondonSolihull
    CrawleySouth Lakeland
    DudleySouthampton
    ExeterTelford & Wrekin
    GlasgowWest Oxfordshire
    GreenwichWolverhampton
    Hackney

If you fall under one of these, it's going to be some time in February before your ER data updates again.

There is also the possibility that the address as it's formatted with your local authority is slightly different to the way it is formatted when you type it in to view your credit file.

Do you live in a flat / apartment / block / or otherwise have an address that can be written more than one way?
