Spreadsheet help

Can anyone recommend a good spreadsheet template so I can manage the household finances please? I have tried setting one up using Google Sheets but it really isn't fit for purpose and is confusing me more than it's helping me! I don't have Excel but do have Open Office.

I just keep it simple:
Left columns down = what it is

Top columns across = months

Fill in the blanks across and down with the figures and get it to auto calculate

Depends exactly what you mean by "manage the household finances" but there's a budget planner spreadsheet template in with all the guidance at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/budget-planning/ if you don't want to go down the route of using money management apps that integrate with accounts, etc.
