Have you updated your web browser .

Which web browser are you using?
I've seen something like this before (with Internet Explorer I think) - usually it's been because the website you were at (e.g. Google) hadn't finished loading; when you went to search for something the website finished loading and showed its page rather than the search results. Check whether the icon still indicates that the page is loading before you try searching - if it does then click the X (probably - NOT the X at the top-right of the browser!) to stop it loading, or wait until it finishes.Jenni x0 -

Press 'F12' to open the developer tools. Click on the network tab. Then do a Google search and click on one of the results. Take a screen shot of the developer tools and post it. It might show what is actually happening.
Do you see the problem if you try an alternative search engine? For example, https://duckduckgo.com?

F12 opens the the developer tools.
Along the top of the pane, are a series of headings for different tabs. If you can find and click on the network tab and reload google.com / make your search, the pane will show all of the web requests made and what the response was.
Again I'll ask, do you see the problem if you try an alternative search engine? For example, https://duckduckgo.com?
