Morning all
Raining here and blowing a gale we are not really in the storms path being so far down south but think we are on the edge of it, hope everyone else is not badly affected.
Got a call yesterday afternoon to say new wm was arriving today, I must say its good service as I only ordered it Friday night and they are closed over the weekend, so OH got the old machine outside ready for collection, the men will phone me when they are almost here and I will phone OH who is at work, they will only deliver it to outside and unpack it for us to inspect and then we need to get it in, I cant lift that weight so OH will have to get it in, we have borrowed a sack trolly so should not be too bad, I am looking forward to doing a wash in a quieter machine !!
Dressing change went well yesterday and they have removed one layer of the dressing and put a thin gauze on top, they were really pleased how it was healing so I feel some progress is being made.
Dinner tonight will be something and chips possibly fish fingers and beans, nice and simple.
Camelot I meant to say I hope your knee is ok xx
Gers well done on the declutering xx
TA sending you a virtual hug xx
Dumpling oh how awful for you all sending much love xx
Maddie I hope doggie is ok xx
Have good days all xx

Morning everyone
Woke up feeling full of cold but my test result has come back negative so that's good news! I'm back at work tomorrow so hopefully I'll feel a bit better. We have 5 staff at our nursery and we're all just working 2 mornings a week just now. None of us feel we should be open except for key workers children, especially when the school we're adjacent to is closed, but parents are still sending their children as if there's nothing wrong. Of course, there's many others in a lot worse position.
I've been helping eldest DD in Sweden choose where to live when she moves to Germany. The company will pay for a month's stay in a hotel and she had a list of 3 to choose from. She'll then have to find an apartment. All very exciting for her though made complicated by both the virus and Brexit.
Well I'd better go and wash up , then I have some ironing to do.
I'll have to ring the dentist as I had to cancel my appointment yesterday as I needed a Covid test.
hope you all have a good day or at least as good as possible.
Hugs to Dumpling13 -
Good Morning all
Reading everyones updates makes me realise how much everyone is going through
Dumpling oh how awful for you all to have to go through this
Maddie I hope doggie is ok - having a 3yr old lab we have been through our fair share of vomitting episodes so I know how gross it can be
From my perspective I did go for a walk/run yesterday the weather was awful it was pure mud everywhere so a bit lethal in the woods which was a shame but it was also quiet. My trainers leak like a sieve so I will have to invest at some point (maybe when DH bonus arrives!) in some good fell running waterproof ones. I felt better for having got out and about for a run but doggo 'found' a rabbit in the woods she carried it for a bit and it was still alive but she did eventually leave it. Both me and the dog had to go straight into the shower as we were so muddy and all clothes etc went into the wash straight away!
I will have to get in touch with the vet to order flea/tick wormer for cat and dog - one of the jobs I keep putting off, also DH had to go to dentist to fix a tooth that broke off some filling at weekend, so £160 worse off and I need to go as well but keep putting that off too so I need to be brave and sort it out.
On and off have meetings today but am not really engaged on work at the mo, I need to get my mojo back....Diet wise doing OK and ordered new batter for scales so no idea if I have lost any of my xmas lard yet!
Yesterday made some asian meatballs with turkey mince as high protein snack and some boiled eggs so no excuses not to stick to it! Also had done a lovely shin beef and ale casserole which was very tasty - hopefully some leftovers the men can have a pasty (or a small pastry topped pie.
Hoping I can persuade DS to make dinner (fajitas) so I will just have the clearing up to do!!
So just got get over humpday and muster up some enthusiasm for work and all will be well. Had a good chat with my mum last night which cheered me up!

Hugs to all feeling down and sad
Having a day off but not going anywhere (shielding) but nice to get away from the laptop and bad news that circulated at work yesterday
Gers your clearing out reminded me when my parents were moving and I got rid of 5 black sacks of food
DMUM had a bit of a hoarder thing going and if she used something would buy 2 to replace it and it would never get used the worst one was when we found salad cream in a cupboard I couldnt even describe the colour !!!
Wet and windy here all night but hope everyone else stays safe
Have a good Wednesday All

Hello all from a wet and windy Wales !We took Dad for his jab this morning and luckily it was dry for him to walk in, not dry when he returned, but I was able to go and meet him with the brolly. There was not much of a queue outside but inside there was, still everything moved very quickly, in and out in half an hour. I will ring him a couple of times today just to check he's ok. I seem to be worrying about everything and everyone of late.Nothing much in the housework line will be done today. Tea tonight will be tacos, I found the shells lurking at the back of the cupboard and I had mince in the freezer, so something different from the same old meals. We also have a flood warning in place on the local river, as we are half way up the mountain it won't get up here, but hopefully we won't have any landslides either.I think we'll all feeling a bit down lately, don't think the weather is helping anyone's moods either, certainly brings me down.TA A group hug sounds good to me ((((
))))Dumpling oh my goodness such awful news about your cousin. My condolences to you and the family.Gers well done on the big throw out. My Dad's become a bit of a hoarder too, he's got a hand held cleaner and other stuff that no longer works but he won't part with any of it. He says I can deal with it all after he's gone
Nelski Are you ok my BFF ?Hugs to those having problems at work and anyone having difficulties of any sort. Healing vibes to the poorly ones, family members or animals.Take care of yourselves, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -

My DM used to say that until I explained that after she's gone I'd be cursing her for leaving me with so much s***t to clear out and how it would only bring bad feelings when I should be grieving. At least now I'm doing it from a 'good place' rather than a bad one.I've done the tip trip. A very kind bloke doing work next door helped me down the outside stairs with two heavy bags, I'd already been down with two others and one rucksack. Now I have to order fresh flour!
I feel so much better for this. There's only light rain here so far, I hope that everyone is safe, warm and keeping dry. A couple of DM's friends are travelling from Ripon to York for their COVID jags, they are a bit worried about the weather so maybe they can be home before any heavy rains.

Just popping back in to say my dad had his vaccination this morning. The district nurse just turned up to do it...he's very happy. That's mam and dad both had first one now so that's a relief.9

Afternoon all! Didn't get round to posting yesterday,I wasn't allowed in the room when he had his interview and I wanted him to re read his CV and other stuff before they started. I did spend about an hour trying to get the printer to work to print stuff out but the damn thing is now on Windows 10 which is built for dummies and I can't access the settings I used to do before and they've changed the program I used to use for a rubbish app...who's the dummy now? I made a chicken chuck togehter the other night, chicken [ obviously], chunky mustard and cheese sauce and leeks. There's enough of that left to make a pie for both of us tonight and I've just made kedgeree for breakfast. There's a bit left for snacking or breakfast tomorrow. Gers, I used the OOD smoked mackerel in the fridge up
It ran out on the fifth but I go on the theory that it's smoked and vac packed, so it's fine....If I start prjectile vomiting after [sorry about your dog Maddie] then it was off.OH is venturing to town after, something that can't be put off any longer, otherwise I'd tell him not to bother. Today I have planned a great big fat nothing, although I have found a kind of volunteer post that I'll apply for so I have to think of something exciting and proactive to say about myself.Oh dumpling, you are having an awful time and how terrible for your cousin. Gers, look at all the emptying fo cupboards you're inspiring! Hope your knee is better camelot. NRA, same. My mother hoarded food pretty much like Gers mum and her answer to anything that was OD was 'It'll be fine, it's sealed'. Another victim of the war years and poverty. Welcome Ami..Glad your dad's had his jab. TA,think we're mostly in the same place these days, doom, gloom and sh*tty weather....So group hugs welcome wearing giant plastic bags of course
