Selling clothes through ebay. I wasn't using another business account, it's a brand new business. I will check CIFAS.
What was the purpose of the activity/transactions that went through the other accounts you held within the group?
  • How many sales were there? A few getting rid sa yof some of your old clothes or mass selling of new items?
Also I have to ask if they were genuine not counterfeit? If they were iffy someone might have made a claim against you?
  • I should have uploaded this before but this is the letter I received from Lloyds when they were closing my business account:
I can't post links as I'm still a new member so I can't let you see the image file, but I've used OCR to convert it to text:

Thank you for applying to open a RBB Current Account. After we received your application we did some further checks. As a result of these we will be closing your new account with immediate effect and you won't be able to use it. Please destroy any correspondence including any card and PIN you receive.
    How we reviewed your application
In our review of your application we checked the accuracy of the details that you gave us. We also looked at data held by credit reference and fraud prevention agencies. Having done this we can see that you don't meet our requirements for opening an account.
If your account has money in it
You will need to visit a branch. Take this letter with you along with one of the following forms of ID:
    • current UK driving licence • current signed passport • EU / EEA driving licence or ID card • disabled drivers pass • for under 18s only we can accept a birth certificate or medical card

    If your account is overdrawn
If you owe us money, you need to repay this to us. You must do this by paying cash over the counter at a branch. Please take this letter as reference. If you can't repay the full amount immediately let us know and our Collections Team will contact you to discuss next steps.
You have options for debt guidance

You can get free help and support about managing your money from many debt advice organisations. These include:
    • StepChange Debt Charity: stepchange.org • National Debtline: nationaldebtline.co.uk • Your local Citizen's Advice Bureau: citizensadvice.org.uk
If you have any questions about this letter you can call us on the number at the top of the page. We're available Monday to Friday 09:OOam — 17:OOpm.
    Yours sincerely,

  • My total credit balance is current £40k so I guess that may be a factor
  • just to clarify: credit as in the balance of my credit cards and loans with various banks, etc. not as in a 40k balance with LBG.
  • To me it looks like a CIFAS marker - to me - you need to check this.

I once had the same letters sent to me from LBG. I had nothing on CIFAS or National Hunter. Turns out they just didn't want me. In fairness I didn't really use the accounts so that was most likely the reason why.
Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 2027
  • Did a SAR to CIFAS. They don't have anything for me. Still waiting to hear from National Hunter. Still no letters from Lloyds, BOS, Halifax. I keep getting notifications of credits etc through the app even although I can't actually log into the app since my details are suspended!

Yes that's the text. Thanks for posting the letter. Do you know any more about why you received it?
I didn't receive the text but I did receive the letter. It's when something about either your account activity or information held about you on credit files and fraud prevention agencies has highlighted concerns. Note that it doesn't prevent you from banking with Lloyds Group in future (that's a separate decision and letter).
How do you know he can bank with LBG in the future judging from the letter?
